Asheville itself is legendary for its activities, its setting, its openness to guests. The list of mountain activities seems endless: the Biltmore Estate, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the North Carolina Arboretum, Chimney Rock Park, Smoky Mountain National Park, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, wildwater rafting, horseback riding, golf, fishing, music, crafts, galleries, and fabulous restaurants-and that's just for starters. Each of our inns is located conveniently in historic districts-near downtown in the Montford Historic District, near the Biltmore Estate in the Biltmore Village Historic District, and near the Grove Park Inn in the Albemarle Park Historic District.
All of our inns are striking examples of their styles, from Victorian to Arts and Crafts to Greek Revival. Several were designed by leading Asheville architects at the time, and some additions were designed by Asheville's current leading architect. All of them are on the National Register of Historic Places, and several are Landmark Properties of Asheville and Buncombe County. Asheville's architecture is an extraordinary and harmonious blending of Art Deco, Byzantine, Gothic, and Classical-all contributing to the vibrant life of the city.
All of our inns have fascinating-often award-winning-gardens and landscaping. You will also find wonderful gardens all around us, from the North Carolina arboretum to Craggy Gardens to the university's botanical gardens. The Blue Ridge Mountains are home to dozens of microclimates, allowing plants to live together here that are never found together anywhere else.
At our inns, you will be treated as you have always dreamed of being treated, with a warmth and graciousness that is reminiscent of Biltmore's Gilded Age. Our innkeepers are all experienced, have lived in Asheville a long time, and can help you find the restaurant, spa, trail, music, shopping that you like. It's like having your own concierge, without having to share with hundreds of others.
Each inn is handsome in its appointments and furnished with every comfort. Splendid homemade, full breakfasts are served by candlelight on crystal and china. Whirlpools, fireplaces, television, telephone, high speed wireless Internet, air conditioning, robes, shampoos and soaps contribute to the comfort of guests.
